Price Sync

Keep Recharge subscription prices in line with Shopify product prices.

Available on all plans. PricePilot keeps Recharge subscription prices in line with the matching Shopify product prices. It scans upcoming charges within your lookahead period, compares each subscription price with the current Shopify variant price, and updates any mismatch.

Key behaviors

Price increases: by default PricePilot updates prices in both directions. To sync decreases only, disable price increase updates.
Grace period: subscriptions with a charge inside the grace period are not updated, so customers do not see a last-minute change.
Lowest price guarantee: when enabled, price decreases apply immediately regardless of the grace period.
Shopify App Subscriptions: charges for Shopify App Subscriptions are excluded from syncing.
Batch processing: PricePilot sends changes through Recharge's batch API in bulk rather than one at a time.
Confirmation: a change is recorded as Applied only after Recharge confirms the new subscription price. Until then it shows as Submitted. If Recharge rejects the update, the change is recorded as Failed with the reason, and the next sync retries it. A submitted change that Recharge is still processing when the run ends is confirmed (or marked failed) at the start of the next sync.
One sync at a time: only one price sync runs per store at a time. A manual sync started while the scheduled sync is still running is skipped rather than run alongside it, so overlapping runs can never increase a subscription twice.

Free Shipping Protection

Available on all plans. Free shipping protection stops PricePilot from increasing a subscription price when the difference comes from shipping costs rather than the product price.

How it works:

When PricePilot detects a price increase for a subscription, it compares the increase against your configured shipping threshold.
If the increase falls within the threshold, PricePilot skips the update.
Price decreases are never affected by this setting.
In Require review and Audit only mode, the threshold is judged on the decreases that will be applied in that run. Queued or audited increases are not counted, so a decrease is never held back by an increase that is not being applied.

Configure the threshold from the sync settings in PricePilot.

Increase control modes

Available on all plans. Three modes control how price increases are applied.

Automatic (default): price increases are applied during each sync run.
Require review: price increases are queued as "pending review" instead of applied. You approve or dismiss each one from the review queue before anything is written to Recharge. You may want this if you prefer a human checkpoint before customers see a higher price.
Audit only: price increases are recorded but never applied or notified. You may want this to watch price drift without acting on it.

Change the mode at any time from the Price Sync settings page.

Increase cooldown

Available on all plans. If your Shopify prices move more than once a day (for example, because you price-match a marketplace automatically), a subscription inside the sync window could be increased several times in a row, and the subscriber could receive several increase emails within a few hours. The increase cooldown prevents that.

Once PricePilot has increased a subscription's price, it will not increase that subscription again until the cooldown has passed. Any further increase detected inside the window is recorded as Skipped with the reason Increase cooldown, so it stays visible in the sync history.

Key behaviors:

Applies in every increase control mode. A subscription inside its cooldown is not applied, queued for review, or recorded for audit.
Applies to review approvals too. Approving a queued increase for a subscription still inside its cooldown records it as Skipped with the reason Increase cooldown. Once the cooldown has passed, the next sync queues the increase for review again. If several queued increases for the same subscription are approved together, only the most recently detected one is applied.
The cooldown does not delay price decreases. (Free-shipping protection can still hold a decrease back, and it is evaluated on the changes that remain after the cooldown.)
Manual syncs respect the saved cooldown in the same way as automatic runs.
The cooldown starts when an increase is applied, including increases approved from the review queue.

Choose a window from Off (the default) up to 7 days with the Increase cooldown control in the Change controls section of the Price Sync page. A cooldown at least as long as the time a charge spends inside your sync window (the lookahead minus the grace period) guarantees a subscription is increased at most once per renewal.

Review queue

Available when the increase control mode is Require review. The review queue on the Price Sync page lists every price increase waiting for a decision.

Each entry shows:

Customer email
Scheduled charge date
Old and new price
Review status (e.g. Pending, Approved, Dismissed)
Notice status (e.g. Not Required, Queued, Sent)

Bulk actions: select individual rows or use "Select all" to act on the whole page. Two actions are available:

Approve: the selected increases are written to Recharge. The grace period still applies: if a charge falls inside the grace window at approval time, that change is skipped. Each approved change shows as Submitted until Recharge confirms it, then Applied. A rejected update is recorded as Failed with the reason.
Dismiss: the selected changes are recorded as dismissed and will not be applied.

Dismissed and skipped changes stay visible in the sync run history.

Klaviyo notice tracking

Available on all plans when Klaviyo is connected and the notice toggle is on. PricePilot queues a Klaviyo event whenever a price increase is applied, so you can build a flow that tells subscribers about the change.

How it works by mode:

Automatic: a notice event is queued each time an increase is applied during a sync run.
Require review: a notice event is queued when an increase is approved from the review queue and sent to Recharge. No notice is queued for an update Recharge rejects.
Audit only: no notices are sent, since increases are never applied in this mode.

The Klaviyo event is named Subscription Price Increase Notice and includes the old price, new price, and scheduled charge date. Use these properties in Klaviyo to build email or SMS flows.

To enable notice tracking, connect Klaviyo from the Integrations page and then toggle "Queue Klaviyo notices for applied increases" in the Price Sync settings.
