Stock Reservation

Reserve inventory for upcoming subscription renewals via Shopify draft orders.

Available on all plans. PricePilot creates Shopify draft orders to reserve inventory for upcoming subscription renewals. This prevents overselling by setting aside stock for your most valuable customers — subscribers.

How it works

  1. PricePilot scans upcoming Recharge charges within your reservation window.
  2. It aggregates demand by product variant across all upcoming charges.
  3. Draft orders are created in Shopify to reserve the required inventory.
  4. As charges are processed and converted to real orders, the corresponding draft orders are cleaned up.

Reports

PricePilot generates CSV reports for each reservation run, including:

  • Reservation report: All products reserved, quantities, and variant details
  • Out-of-stock report: Products where demand exceeded available inventory

Reports are stored in S3 and accessible from the Reports section of PricePilot.

Recharge Bundles

Available on Large Business and Ultra plans. Bundle subscriptions in Recharge are handled alongside standard subscriptions during the reservation process. PricePilot detects bundle subscriptions, extracts the individual product selections, and includes them in inventory reservations and price sync operations.

Reserve Beyond Scheduled Charges

Available on Pro plans and above with a lookahead of 4 weeks or more. Recharge typically only schedules one upcoming charge per subscription at a time, which limits how far ahead reservations can extend.

When enabled, PricePilot predicts future renewal dates based on each subscription's order frequency (e.g., every 2 weeks, every month) and projects charges forward through your entire lookahead window. This means a 6-month lookahead on the Ultra plan can reserve inventory for renewals that Recharge hasn't scheduled yet.

How projection works:

  • PricePilot reads each subscription's delivery frequency from Recharge
  • Starting from the most recent scheduled charge date, it projects forward at the subscription's interval
  • Projected charges are treated the same as real scheduled charges for reservation purposes
  • When Recharge eventually schedules the actual charge, PricePilot automatically replaces the projected reservation with the real one

Report Only Mode

Available on Large Business and Ultra plans. When enabled, PricePilot runs the full reservation analysis without creating draft orders in Shopify. Instead, it generates detailed reports showing what would be reserved.

What the report includes:

  • Product variant, quantity, and charge date for each planned reservation
  • Total units that would be reserved per variant
  • Out-of-stock items where demand exceeds available inventory
  • Aggregated summary by product

This is useful for:

  • Evaluating PricePilot before committing to live reservations
  • Analyzing demand patterns without affecting your Shopify inventory
  • Comparing projected reservations against actual stock levels

Reports are uploaded to S3 and accessible from the Reports section.
